Jabraylon Bables Dipped In A Pot Of Boiling Water By His Mother’s Boyfriend

Carlnelus (Really?) Delaney Simmons, 37, dipped 16 month old Jabraylon Bables in a pot of boiling water.  When emergency responders and officials arrived at the home, Simmons claimed the boy’s injuries were accidental.  He stated he was holding a pot of boiling water in the kitchen when Jabraylon ran into him, causing him to spill the water over the little boy.  Yeah …… sure.  Simmons was immediately arrested and held on felony child abuse charges.  Jabraylon’s injuries were clearly caused by being held in boiling water, I can only imagine the horrific screams that must have escaped that little boy, and how he must have wondered why this was happening to him.

Little Jabraylon suffered for 36 long days before succumbing to his grotesque injuries.  The little boy was rushed to the hospital, with burns covering most of his lower body, legs, feet, buttocks and hands so severe that his skin was melting off.  Doctors performed a surgery where they removed about 60% of his badly damaged intestines.  The next day another surgery was performed where doctors removed more of the boy’s intestines and a portion of his stomach.  However, the damage was just too severe.  For 36 days Jabraylon suffered through infections, kidney failure, and the pain of his body swelling to the point where he was unrecognizable.  His tiny body was hooked to a plethora of machines in an effort to keep him alive.

 Jabraylon’s mother, Jasmine Thompson, defended Simmons, calling him a “good person”, and claiming he would never intentionally hurt Jabraylon.  Thompson believes it was an accident.  AN ACCIDENT?  I can’t decide if she’s blind or stupid, but I’m leaning towards stupid, very very stupid.  Personally, if the doctor’s and law enforcement were telling me these injuries were intentional, and a coroner ruled the death a homicide, I sure as hell would believe them.  Thompson’s other son has been placed in the care of the state.

Not surprisingly, this is not Simmons’ first run in with the law.  In 1994, Simmons was charged and convicted of murdering a man outside a bar.  He was only released from prison in 2007.  Thompson claims to have known about his murder conviction, but did not press him for details – WHAT?  She also claimed to have knowledge about some serious points of interest if you ask me.  She admitted to knowing Simmons was a drug deal, after investigators found 95 vials of PCP and 8 plastic baggies of cocaine in the home she and Simmons shared.  This was not the first time Simmons was arrested for drug charges.  In 2009, he was arrested for selling vials of PCP for $15.00.  This guy sure sounds like babysitter material to me.

Records indicate Simmons’ trial was set to begin on January 30^th of this year.  I can’t find much information about it but will continue to dig and update as I learn more.
